Looks like Dan the Automator's Head Automatica project with Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw is ready to drop- I'm a tad anxious about this one, since I haven't really liked any Automator project since Handsome Boy Modeling School (save for a handful of Gorillaz singles). "Brooklyn Is Burning," which you can stream at the band page, is catchy as hell, and certainly lives up to the "electronic cock rock" thing without sounding terrible, but it'll be interesting (and nerve-racking) to see if they can pull off a whole album of this stuff. And the cover art is jaw-droppingly bad. Still, maybe this means the Sammy's Romanians project with El-P isn't far off...

Speaking of cover art, this is presumably the cover art for Björk's forthcoming Medúlla album:

For the two of you who aren't already sick of hearing about it, this is the album that will be constructed (by Björk and a team of programmers including Matmos and Mark Bell/LFO) entirely from vocal sounds, from Björk herself, choirs, human beatbox Rahzel, Dokaka, and prolific nutjob Mike Patton. Should be fun.

And Julian Fane's upcoming Special Forces album on Planet Mu is fantastic- listen to it here. Even in crappy low-quality mp3, this is definitely one of my favorite albums of the year so far...try "Drowning in Haunted Water" and "Book Repository" first.
