More spooky crap
As long as we're exhuming Bauhaus side projects, here are a couple of David J. obscurities. Both co-written with Alan Moore (Comic God and owner of a very impressive beard). The former is kicky Broadway number which originally appeared in the brilliant V for Vendetta (get it here), and the latter is...well. It's about ducks, isn't it? And Alan Moore sings!
-New Dizzee Rascal video, for the frankly bizarre Captain Sensible-sampling "Dream."
-Quickly-rising post-punk types Bloc Party have several freebies up for download...
-...as do Chromeo, including a 37-minute mix of trashy Eurodisco goodness. Yum.
-Another quality mix by Gooom Disque's Abstrackt Keal Agram here. Makes great use of John Carpenter's Christine theme, among other things.
-And the infamous Slashdot Effect works for good, not evil, as this torrent of Jon Stewart tearing Tucker Carlson a new asshole on live television should be nicely seeded by now. If you don't have a BitTorrent client yet, here.
-Spider Jerusalem is here to tell you about voting.
-New Jeunet! More Audrey Tautou! Glee!
-DavidAC, keeper of the web's best (and practically only) Bola site, has the artwork for the Bolaman's upcoming Gnayse. It's typically excellent Michael England stuff. Take a look.
-Warp sign another indie act, and the usual suspects shit kittens. This is almost too fun to watch.
-Scott Herren's Piano Overlord project looks quite promising.
-There's some really great shit coming out soon from both the tech-house contingent (Michael Mayer's debut album, new Ricardo Villalobos on Perlon) and, surprisingly, Massive Attack (the Danny the Dog soundtrack and Daddy G's DJ Kicks mix). Scissorkick has more detail on G's mix, and it's looking great. I'm still a bit disappointed by the inclusion of Oakenfold, but hey, if he can make it work, more power to him.
